Escape to Quabbs Meadow for a luxury holiday with the cosiness and quirkiness of a traditional log cabin

Our beautiful Welsh Oak towers over the meadow, filtering the late evening sun into dapples on the ground below. Breathe in the Welsh air and enjoy the vistas of the rolling hills surrounding you by day, and the unpolluted dark skies for stargazing at night

Quabbs Cabin, Powys, Wales

Quabbs Cabin nestles beautifully in the corner of historic Quabbs Meadow, a special haven immersed in nature with the breath-taking vistas of the Welsh countryside wherever you look.

Whilst rustic, the attention to detail inside has been thought-out and carefully hand-crafted with guest comfort and experience in mind. Park your car and make your way up the path, onto the porch and to your own little secret spot. Walk in and be met by the softly-lit vaulted ceiling and the huge bespoke beams. Snuggle down in front of the log burner on soft sofas, comfy chairs right down to throws, cushions and blankets and in the cosy bedroom, a King-size bed with sumptuous bedding.

Escape the hustle and bustle and take the time to relax at Quabbs. Walk your feet off or put your feet up. Slow down and relax in our unique rustic hand-crafted cabin nestled in the vistas of the rolling mid-Wales hills and dark skies.

Secluded, relaxing, natural area

We have carefully selected the cabin location so that our guests would feel secluded, enjoy the tranquil surroundings and be able to experience a different countryside view from each cabin window.

To the east, framed by the large glass French doors, you can see Cwm Whitton Hill and beyond that Llan-Wen Hill and balanced right on the top of the opposite valley is Offa’s Dyke. From the bedroom window, perhaps whilst enjoying a cuppa from your bed, enjoy view to the south west over Quabbs Meadow, where sometimes one of our pedigree flocks will be grazing. In the distance you can spot the hazy blue/green of the Radnor Forest and watch the sunset from the porch over Rhos Hill, Graig Hill and Black Hill.

Powys, Wales - a beautiful place to explore

Powys offers a myriad of different things for you to do. Walk a section of Offa’s Dyke right from the end of the lane or join further up on the hill. Swim the beautiful The River Lugg at Dolley Green just a couple of miles away or visit Lugg meadows in Leintwardine where two rivers meet (there’s also a fabulous pub adjacent to the river for refreshments after your swim).

If you’re into history, there are plenty of ancient battlegrounds which tell the stories of the Welsh / English border conflicts of old. Maybe you fancy a mooch around the foodie capital of Ludlow with its traditional markets, independent shops and medieval castle.

Sit in the garden, or on the porch and take in the countryside around you. If the weather is a little chillier, light the log burner and admire the view from the picture window whilst you cosy up inside.

When we talk about our inspiration; we have drawn ideas from unique places throughout the world. We have brought it all here to Wales into what we hope is a quirky, comfortable and above all quality stress-free experience for our guests.

Both of us love, and were born in the countryside, the space to breathe is paramount to us so it made sense to us to share our little corner of rural mid-Wales with you. We hope you will be able to slow down, breathe and enjoy a carefree break here with us at The Quabbs.
