The Benefits of our Luxury Copper Bath at Quabbs Cabin

There are certain moments at Quabbs Cabin when the world slows itself right down, wraps you in warmth, and whispers that you’re allowed to switch off. The elevated copper bath under the rose-gold mirror ball is one of those moments. She’s an absolute beauty and yes, we refer to her in the female sense as she is absolutely majestic.

It’s the first thing guests mention. The photos never quite prepare you for the way she actually looks when you step into the bathroom: warm, gleaming, old-world gorgeous, sitting there on a raised plinth like she belongs in a romantic period drama. She warmly reflects the rustic wood, the low lights and dark green walls. The real tree seemingly growing through the floor and out of the roof. People gasp. Honestly, they do. And I don’t blame them, she is awesome.

And the benefits of a copper bath, where do we even start? Beyond her jaw-dropping good looks, copper bathtubs quietly bring a whole bundle of wellness benefits with them. And now, with The Sauna Shack and its new rainfall shower tucked into the trees, the whole experience has levelled up. The shower feels like stepping into a hidden woodland spa. The reclaimed wood, the corrugated tin, the glass front that opens straight onto the meadow… it’s rustic and romantic in that Quabbs way that makes you want to stay in there just a little longer than you probably should.

Guests come back raving about the feeling of cold water streaming down while the cool air from the trees brushes the edges. The sharp intake of breath as you dip into the reclaimed sherry barrel for a cold dip. It’s the kind of invigorating mix that wakes you up in the morning and resets you in the evening. And if you’re hopping between the infrared warmth of the sauna, the freshness of the rainfall shower, the sherry barrel, and the copper bath waiting back inside? Well, you’ve basically created your own mini spa retreat without stepping foot off the farm. Just pop on one of our enormous robes and you’re done.

What I love most is that none of it feels flashy or contrived. It’s natural, rustic handmade, tied into the land. The bath sits inside a cabin built from reclaimed and local materials by Paul’s hands. The shower stands among trees we know like old friends. The whole setup feels rooted, warm, lived-in — the exact opposite of the chrome-and-white hotel kind of luxury.

It’s the sort of luxury that comes with peace. Space. Time. That feeling of being tucked away from the world with someone you love, nowhere to be, nothing to rush for.

So yes, the copper bath is our showstopper, and the rainfall shower is fast becoming a close second, but what they really offer is something simple: a place to slow down. A place to breathe. A place where comfort and nature meet in the middle and settle around you like warm water.
