Tucked into the hills of mid-Wales, surrounded by wildflower meadows, sheep, birdsong and those enormous views. You may see and hear the soft sigh of the breeze across the valley, our cabin was built for moments like these: slow, soulful, and steeped in love.
We’ve had the absolute joy of welcoming couples celebrating all stages of love – the surprise proposal (we helped with this, so just ask!), the giggling newlyweds still a bit giddy from their “I do’s,” the soon-to-be-marrieds escaping seating plan chaos for a deep breath and a copper bath, and those enjoying a slower-paced honeymoon with muddy boots, wine by the fire, and hot tub stargazing. We are also very experienced in hosting special anniversaries or ‘just because I love you ‘ weekends
The Cabin: Cosy, Quirky, and Just for Two
This isn’t your average bolt-hole. Hand-built with love (and plenty of reclaimed materials) by my husband Paul, Quabbs Cabin is full of soul, love and quirky features. You’ll find a handmade bed that looks out across a meadow, the log burner to welcome you to sit and snuggle, and a copper bath and rainfall shower, both big enough for two. There’s also a wood-fired hot tub that crackles to life under a blanket of stars and a wraparound porch for cuddling under blankets with steaming mugs in hand.
You won’t see another person, unless you want to – total seclusion. You won’t hear your phone ping, unless you want to, yes, we do have WiFi. What you will hear is birdsong, the occasional sheep bleat, and maybe the pop of a cork. Just bliss!
Slow Days and Starry Nights
Mornings begin gently here. Open the door to the hills and enjoy your coffee on the sundeck. Wander through dew-kissed grass. Snuggle back under the covers and read whilst keeping an eye on the meadow for wildlife or sheep activities – they are very funny to watch. Or just snuggle back in and have another doze. You’re on cabin time now.
And when night falls? We’ve got a stargazing kit for two. Fleece throws, flasks, binoculars, and our telescope are all yours. Lie back on the lounger or hop in the hot tub and make a wish on a shooting star. Our skies are dark, wild, and breathtaking.
Perfect for Pre-Wedding Pauses and Mini Moons
Planning a wedding can be wonderful… and a little bonkers. If you need somewhere to press pause, Quabbs is your haven. Arrive frazzled, leave rejuvenated and ready to tackle those final plans. We’ve had couples come for a pre-wedding break to reconnect, reset, and remember what it’s all about – they truly recommend this little pause.
Or maybe you’re after a mini moon – a shorter post-wedding escape before a bigger trip later. Our cabin is all about intimacy and connection. No fancy dress codes. Just wellies, walks, wine, and watching the sunrise or sunset with your person.
