The Cabin
Welsh air & rolling hills
Nestled in nature
We chose the cabin’s location with great care — a spot where guests could feel truly secluded, surrounded by peace, and treated to a different countryside view from every window.
To the east, through the large glass French doors, you’ll see Cwm Whitton Hill, with Llan-Wen Hill rising just beyond. Balanced right on the opposite ridge is the ancient line of Offa’s Dyke.
From the bedroom window, perhaps with a morning cuppa in hand, gaze southwest over Quabbs Meadow — where one of our pedigree flocks might be quietly grazing.
And in winter, when the trees have shed their leaves, Offa’s Dyke reveals itself more clearly, perched high along the distant ridge.
Immersed in the countryside
Nestled deep in its own little world, the cabin sits in perfect seclusion — cocooned by trees that stretch their green limbs around it, casting flickering shadows and golden light. It feels more like part of the landscape than placed upon it. Just in front, our peaceful glade invites you to picnic among wildflowers, sway in hammocks beneath the trees, and gaze dreamily across the hills beyond.
In the distance, the Radnor Forest lingers in a soft, blue-green haze, while the sun makes its golden descent over Rhos Hill, Graig Hill, and Black Hill — a slow, shimmering show best enjoyed from the wraparound porch, bundled in a blanket with a warm drink and quiet awe.
From the north-facing windows of the bathroom and kitchen, you may catch sight of two familiar friends in the meadow — Ruby, our wise old Irish Cob, and Pumpkin, our gentle Shire mare. It’s no coincidence the land is called Rhos y Meirch — “Moor of the Horses.”
The wraparound porch and sun deck open to the world in every direction — hills rolling like waves, skies in constant conversation with the light, meadows whispering in the breeze. It’s a place where you can watch the sun rise with the birds and follow its arc all the way to dusk, in uninterrupted peace.
Cosy Corners of Warmth
Though rustic in spirit, every detail inside Quabbs Cabin has been thoughtfully hand-crafted with your comfort and experience in mind. Each cosy corner invites you to relax. Park in your own private spot and follow the winding path, through the orchard until the cabin peeps through the trees. climb the steps and onto the wraparound porch — your gateway to stillness and sweeping views.
Step inside, where the soft glow of the vaulted ceiling meets striking, hand-hewn beams. Sink into a squashy sofa by the flickering log burner, wrapped in throws and blankets that invite you to stay a little longer.
In the bedroom, a rustic handcrafted bed gazes out over the meadow — dressed in sumptuous pure linen bedding and ready to cradle you into the deepest sleep. Cook up something delicious in the fully equipped kitchen, or simply pour a glass of something lovely and take your time.
When you’re ready to unwind, slip into the freestanding copper bath and let the day melt away, or enjoy our double-size rainfall shower. Wrap up in fluffy towels, slip on a monogrammed cabin robe, and enjoy our complimentary, sustainable toiletries — often handmade by Steph, with love and hedgerow ingredients.
From the moment we began designing Quabbs Cabin, our dream was to create a calm and welcoming hideaway — a place where slowing down feels effortless. With its mix of stylish, quirky details and timeless comfort, we think we’ve struck just the right balance.
This is a romantic bolt-hole made for two, nestled in the heart of nature. Wherever you turn, a new view greets you — each window framing the peaceful Welsh landscape in its own unique way.
No matter the season, we believe you’ll fall for the magic of this place. We certainly have — and we’d love to share it with you.
